Week 31

Just funny.

Week 31

The final sanding got done this week, two days worth. Not a job I have ever liked doing, so thank you very much.

Week 31

Bud and Rafe are here this week to put in the power vent for the boiler, finally.  It has been turned off for about 3 weeks as it was starting to spout off black soot  up the side of the house and also coming up inside the wall on the main floor staining the insulation.  New wrinkle.  They work fast those two, when they are here.  Had just noticed the water to the garage for the garden hose had been cut of somewhere along the way and they slapped that in at the same time.

Week 31

We have started to work a bit in the garden but it is still unseasonable cold.  I have decided to get rid of the compost, as I don't want to take care of it anymore and neither does Linda.  We only get a couple of wheel barrels out of it so not worth the labour.  Now that the city is taking all kitchen and garden waste, out it goes.  Looking for less work not more.
That's the plan anyway.

Week 31

More action this week.
Sam has showed up and he has been working on finishing up the dormer at the front of the house.

Week 30

Mudding all this week, not much else to say.  Lots to do, three coats for the whole house. I am pretty good in the basement, doesn't impact me at all, when it comes to dust.  Another story for Linda since she is in grand central station and needs to rearrange everything every morning before work and then comes home to a mess to sort out  Not much longer though, we're almost through the really messy stuff and I hope the end is near for my stay in the basement. Hasn't been that bad, dark and cold, but not that bad...lol

Week 29

Prep in both bathrooms.

Week 29

More exciting drywall shots.

Week 29

Bad Bad Blogger..
What can I say, work interferes with my life.  Besides, it has been drywall days and the pictures are a bit boring.  I have received some complaining emails and phone calls, which is good, somebody is looking!
Drywall boarding is finished and they have started the taping/mudding this week. What a job and glad I am not doing it. The weather is still cool and the construction heaters are running overtime to speed up the drying.  Not much else went on this week but for that and some bits and pieces around, thanks to Rob.  With Will being one handed help was needed.  The shower on the main floor and my bathtub got prepped with a Schluter Kerdi system.  Won't be on Holmes on Homes!
